Design
For generations, the E-Class has established a heritage of leading the way in design. So while its sculpted rear fenders and four-headlight front end might spark instant recognition, it's only because the E-Class has consistently melded timeless elegance with advanced engineering. The E-Class Wagon again shows that fashion and function can be equally compelling, and equally appealing.
With its crisp handling and smooth powertrain, the E350 Sport Wagon offers the rewarding performance you expect from every E-Class. The optional Wheel Package lets you make its bold design even more expressive, with 18-inch AMG wheels outside, and a 3-spoke sport steering wheel in your hands.
LED lighting offers not just a scintillating presence but smarter thinking, from bright white Daytime Running Lamps, to the turn indicators in each side mirror, to the wide wraparound taillamps. Along with lower energy consumption and longer life than conventional bulbs, the undeniably stylish LEDs also help other drivers to better see your E-Class and know your driving intentions.

The optional Panorama sunroof features a vast expanse of heat-reflecting tinted glass overhead, to provide first- and second-row passengers with a dramatic view of the sky. At the touch of a button, the front portion tilts up for draft-free ventilation or slides back for a breeze. A power sliding mesh screen helps filter out sunlight.
Inside the advanced, highly reinforced body structure of the E-Class Wagon is an enormously versatile interior. The standard rear-facing 3rd-row seat accommodates two children, or disappears under the carpeted cargo floor in seconds. With all seats folded, there's room for up to 57.4 cu ft of cargo.
The second-row seats convert from coddling passengers to carrying cargo in seconds. The EASY-FOLD system lets you fold each of the 60/40-split seatbacks flat with the simple pull of a lever near the liftgate, right where you'll be when you need it. The retractable luggage cover includes a vertical partition net you can use with the seatbacks up or down.
Whether you're returning to your E-Class Wagon with a armload of packages or dashing toward the store in a rainstorm, its standard power liftgate makes loading and unloading an easier affair. The push of a button in the vehicle or on your SmartKey remote raises both the liftgate and the interior luggage cover, and a button on the liftgate closes it.
The cockpit controls of the E-Class are designed to feel like a natural extension of your intuition. The COMAND system places audio, optional navigation and information such as real-time traffic reports within easy reach, with a convenient central controller and a high-resolution 7-inch display. The standard Bluetooth® system lets you make hands-free calls without letting go of the steering wheel.
To help you get where you're going and enjoy the journey, the Premium 1 Package includes an advanced navigation system with a 40GB hard drive and live SiriusXM Traffic. It also expands your listening choices with SiriusXM Satellite Radio, an iPod/MP3 Media Interface and a 10GB Music Register for storing digital files. To help you get back, a rear view camera is standard on every E-Class Wagon.
Performance
Standard 4MATIC™ all-wheel drive integrates our 4-wheel Electronic Traction System. 4-ETS continually redistributes the engine´s torque to the wheels with the best grip, even if that´s only one wheel. With a 45:55 front/rear torque split, the lightweight and compact 4MATIC system enhances dry-road handling, too.
A full complement of cargo and passengers won't offend the E-Class Wagon's refined sense of composure. Self-leveling AIRMATIC rear suspension uses advanced air spring-struts to maintain its ride height, smooth driving quality and precise handling as loads, and roads, vary.
The AGILITY CONTROL suspension on the E350 Coupe instantly recalibrates to the road surface, ideally balancing handling with comfort as conditions change. Sport tuning is included with the Appearance Package. On the E550 Coupe, a sport-tuned Dynamic Handling suspension lets you alter the damping rates, accelerator response and shift points with the touch of a single button.
Lift off the accelerator quickly and Predictive Brake Priming sets the pads closer to the discs, for more immediate response when you hit the brakes. In the rain, Automatic Brake Drying gently applies the brakes periodically, to sweep away water build-up. During uphill starts, Hill-Start Assist helps prevent unwanted rollback. And a HOLD feature can make stop-and-go traffic a little easier.
Safety
The E-Class Wagon is a protective showcase of Mercedes-Benz safety firsts. Among its innovations, PRE-SAFE® can detect conditions that suggest a collision or rollover is imminent, then adjust the front seat belts, front passenger seat, windows and sunroof, to better prepare the occupants in the moments before a collision.
Another exclusive Mercedes-Benz innovation, ATTENTION ASSIST can help alert the driver if it detects signs of drowsiness on longer trips. The system continuously monitors over 70 different parameters of driving behavior in the first minutes of a drive to establish a pattern, and can automatically alert the driver with both visual and audible warnings.
DISTRONIC PLUS active cruise control adapts to traffic, automatically slowing or stopping until your path clears. Its radar-based PRE-SAFE Brake can sense an impending collision and apply full braking. Active Blind Spot Assist and Active Lane Keeping Assist can help alert you to unseen vehicles in the next lane, help warn you of drifting out of lane, and even help steer the car back if you disregard the alerts.
